“Be kind to one another…”
Recently I have been the recipient of great kindness from people who read my blog at benzowithdrawalhelp.com and here, at soulreminders.com. Their acts of kindness have gotten me thinking about the power of kindness; how it changes everything in its wake for the better. Webster’s defines kindness as: “the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.”
Think how your life would change if you woke up every day and set your intention to always be kind—friendly, generous, and considerate. Think of the good energy you would spread throughout God’s creation. The key is to be kind with no thought of anything in return. Be kind for the sake of being kind; because it’s the right thing.
Every night before I fall asleep I review my day. Was I kind and loving to all? Do I need to make amends with anyone? I think of three things I am grateful for and I also think of three kindnesses that were shown to me that day. I go to bed with a clear conscious and a full heart. What is the kindest thing someone did for you lately?
Sometimes, we forget to notice kindness. We take for granted people’s generosity of their time and attention. It’s good to be more mindful of what kindness is so we can appreciate it more, and cultivate it more in our lives. Be kind to one another!
